Book Review: Life Lessons for Busy Moms

Although I purchased this book on my own, it is so worth the $1 I paid at Goodwill. My newest book to read is Life Lessons for Busy Moms; 7 essential Ingredients to Organize and Balance your World by John T. Canfield and Hansen and Hansen.

I am a stay at home mother of 3 kids and while they are at preschool or kindergarten is the only time besides after 10pm I have with the hubby. We typically use our mornings to do errands and have a meal together just the two of us but it typically ends up to be a quick bowl of cereal or drive-thru because we have so much going on in our lives.

Life Lessons for a busy Mom helped me get back to a few basics especially on how and what to balance in my life that is important. Although I like every fan here on Moms Saving Money I have to be honest you are not my priority. I started Moms Saving Money to help me teach myself to save money and slowly became to help others to save money. In the meantime I am still responsible to nurture my family and take care of the household items in our lives.

Here are a couple of those 7 ingredients that are mentioned in this book.

Lesson #2 – Nurture your “Whole” Self to achieve balance. Some the main topics to achieve balance includes physical such as regular checkups, exercise, and activities with the family; Social balance such as play dates, adult friendships to keep your sanity by phone calls or email or my favorite facebook (jk); Intimate balance with your spouse at least 20 minutes with the TV off; spiritual balance whether you enjoy the outside or meditate or prayer, take time to be by yourself.

If you have ever been in my house then you know that the bathroom is not even a place to get away. So be sure to plan ahead with your spouse or a friend to watch the kids so you can get by yourself for a few minutes. Try early morning or evening but like my house that is so impossible!
